ISO Certification Process

The Certification Process happens in stages, beginning with us learning about your business. You may be considering certification in order to tender for business, to assist in legal compliance, to seek out new markets for your products or to simply improve your business and ensure that it meets world standards.

Pre-Certification Audit (Stage 1)

The Pre-Certfication Audit is a high-level test to see whether your current management system is suitable for certification and whether there are any gaps that need addressing before certification can occur. CCC will report on any areas of concern. This audit sets expectations for the actual Certification Audit.

This step is critical as it allows for any necessary system improvements before the Certification Audit and provides you with more calirty and confidence in the process. It provides you with a map to prepare for the actual Certification Audit.

Certification Audit (Stage 2)

During the on-site Certification Audit, we check how you have addressed the ISO Certification criteria and implemented your management system. This will involve discussion with key personnel and stakeholders. Areas of concern (if there are any identified) will be reported. Once we are satisfied there are no outstanding issues that present an unacceptable risk to you, your employees, customers, regulators, or other stakeholders, we can proceed to recommend certification and Equal Assurance will issue a Certificate of Confidence.

Maintain Certification

Depending on the level of risk, we will conduct a series of surveillance audits (usually annually, but in some cases special and follow-up audits) and tri-ennial re-certification audits, to examine the extent to which you continue to address the program criteria with no issues reported. With no outstanding high-risk issues, your certification remains valid.
